In Yemen, for spying for Israel, was sentenced to death 27-year-old Bassam Abdullah Haidar. He was found guilty in establishing contact with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Haidari wrote an email to the Israeli prime minister with a proposal to work for Mossad. His proposal was accepted.
Two more accused in the case of 24-year-old Imad Ali and Ali Abdullah Raymi Mahfal were sentenced to 3 years’ imprisonment.
Total on suspicion of collaborating with the Mossad in February 2009 had been arrested 6 people. Three of them were released due to lack of evidence.
The arrests occurred shortly after the explosion in front of U.S. embassies in Sanaa. According to officials, a group of convicts acted under the name “Islamic Jihad of Yemen” and claimed responsibility for the attack on the embassy, which killed 18 people
